This design is based on the Geneva mechanism, so that an index gearbox can be made from it. Index gearboxes are widely used in production lines and industrial machinery. In the project of designing and manufacturing sanitary condom testing device, it is necessary to place the mandrels of the device with acceptable accuracy in the position of voltage tests. For this reason, an index gearbox based on the Geneva mechanism was designed and built for this device. Below you can see some photos of this gearbox.

Various mechanisms can be used to implement index gearboxes. The Geneva mechanism is one of the most suitable mechanisms for creating index gearboxes. To implement a Geneva mechanism, many parameters must be taken into account. For example, the moment of inertia of the rotating part has a great influence on the quality and performance of this mechanism. The parts in this mechanism must be manufactured with high precision. There are various methods for manufacturing these parts. In this mechanism, the permissible tolerances must be carefully observed. Lateral brake mechanisms can also be used to prevent the mechanism from backlash.

This system was used in the research and development phase of the project to develop and manufacture condom testers.
